Zoë Lightley

String Teacher

Zoë Lightley started violin at the age of 7 with Leanne Dolman at the Hout Bay Music Project and was part of their ensemble for many years, performing in Maastricht with Andre Rieu and Vienna with the Austrian National Youth Orchestra.
She went on to study a BMus in Violin Performance at UCT under the guidance of Prof Farida Bacharova and graduated in 2020. She is currently studying towards a PGCE through STADIO School of Education.
Zoë is passionate about orchestral and chamber music and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra from 2012-2016, the MIAGI Youth Orchestra from 2013-2014, and took part in the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival for many years.
She has played in orchestras under the baton of Bernard Gueller, Daniel Boico and Ewa Strusinska. She has also received masterclasses from Madeline Adkins, Phillipe Graffin and David Juritz.
