Brass Department

The Beau Soleil Brass Department offers lessons for students from as young as 8 years of age. Tuition is offered on the French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium and Tuba and all Brass-Teachers are highly trained and specialists in their field. The Brass Department prides itself on focusing on the fundamentals of Brass-Playing and therefore strive to build a good musical foundation in a highly professional and a supportive learning environment.

In addition to the 30 minute individual lesson per week, students are presented with the opportunity to partake in either the Preliminary, Junior, Intermediate or Senior Wind Bands and the Jazz Band which have one rehearsal per week.

The opportunity to enter external exams with either UNISA, ABRSM or TRINITY are available and students can be entered from GRADE 1 to Licentiate-Level.

Beau Soleil Music Centre has been the starting point for many professional musicians all over South Africa and prides itself by availing itself to everyone while providing efficient professional music tuition in a secure and friendly environment for over 30 Years.

Schools Heritage Day Celebration, 2018

The Beau Soleil Brass Ensemble performed during the annual Schools Heritage Celebration in 2018, hosted by the Centre for Conservation Education in Wynberg. Every year, a different geographical area is highlighted, with the interesting history of the schools presented in audio-visual format. In 2018 the program included 20 schools in the Newlands, Claremont & Kenilworth area, with South African College Schools (SACS) honoured as the oldest school in this geographical area, and Cedar House Prep as the youngest.

Beau Soleil Music Centre received a Blue Plaque Award from the Centre for Conservation Education for the architectural significance of the building, which was presented to the Centre on 24 Nov 2018. (Link)
